I just got home from having SUCH a good time tonight! There was a Walleye thing going on tonight...some fishing thing...at the Elk's Club. I don't know what the point of it was but there was a GREAT band (Black Velvet) out of Billings, MT and they played all the good music...classic rock from the 70's...holy cow I had SO MUCH FUN!!!
I ran in to a couple friends and we danced! Oh I forgot how much fun it is to go out and have a few drinks and dance and just let your hair down! My friend is an artist and is being featured for a month at a local art mezzanine and she talked me in to going to this club. OMG! I had so much fun!
Since it was a private club I was able to pick up my boys and bring them to see the band. They had a drummer, bassist, rhythm guitar and a very pretty brunette singer with a flashy silver belt and red cowgirl hat and I KNEW my youngest son would really like her!!!
My oldest son charmed many of the ladies there...one in particular hired his twin sister for the summer babysitting her six-year-old after spending most of the night dancing with the "ladies". My youngest son, armed with earplugs and my cell phone capable of text messaging, managed to make it through to 11:30 tonight with a LIVE BAND! I didn't get him to dance but the fact that he, with all of his sensory issues, managed to make it in a crowded, noisy environment for three hours is utterly AMAZING! I did determine though that in an environment with that much noise, he needs better ear plugs. But he did very well and I received NOTHING but compliments the entire night on both my boys! I am SO PROUD of them.
My oldest wasn't quite ready to come home yet so I gave him some money for soda and left him with my friends. Since his twin sister is babysitting their kids, I know who he is with and he really needs the affirmation that he is a good kid from someone other than me. I am so happy for him. He has been so gracious to the women...one of whom was rather intoxicated...but he obliged her and danced with her ever time she requested and wa such a gentleman about it. I know myt boy is creating memories that will last a lifetime!
As for my youngest boy, well, I received the greatest compliment today. One of the ladies I was with told me that he seemed perfectly normal tonight...she would have never guessed that he had autism! He did SO GOOD! He was such a trooper!
My youngest daughter is spending the night at the local evangelical church. She is a Brownie Girl Scout and is participating in an overnight babysitting course being put on by the older girl scouts. She is having a blast!
My oldest daughter, who is quite a handful, is babysitting for my artist friend. She is exstatic to be earning money and is very happy. This is the PERFECT START to the weekend! I hope it continues throughout Sunday!
